Food For Thought

“Laughter is brightest in the place where the food is.” –  Irish proverb

Within the next few weeks, there should be a beautiful new book gracing bookstores across the World. Not just any book – MY BOOK, Rice Pudding in a Duvet, a journey home with snacks.


It’s completely re-edited, exquisitely illustrated and with a funky new cover. I’d self-published it a couple years ago, and we languished together on the shores of ignominy for quite a  while; hounding my friends and family with increasingly crazed marketing ploys in a rather pathetic year long Tupperware party. So, I shelved it. But this little book is too good to let go! With it’s new flow and additional funny chapters and with the help of Mill House Publishers , Facebook and my Instagram account it’s up and running and howling for an audience. These people like to laugh-out-loud, enjoy food and travel, are tired of bad news and wish to escape into the warm home of Alive Bonneville-Beck, pull up a chair and be entertained to a moveable feast.

It’s going to be very exciting to see how it enfolds these next few months. The publication date is November the 7th, but pre-orders can be made today. I’ll take my beloved Rice Pud on the road and will be popping-up first in Spain, with an event at Bookworld in Marbella on the 19th of October.


We’ll be in Copenhagen for a the launch of my photography exhibition and book signing on the 24th of November, and (hopefully) London in the new year.

  1. I liked the first edition very much, Heather: it was very WARMING and “cosy” to read and simply enjoy! Now, I am seduced by the thought that the revised version will deliver even more. Super about the book signings etc. I feel it will ENHANCE re-reading it that I can expect new pleasures among the familiar ones from a few years ago. You have EVERY RIGHT to be confident about its success. But I want a SIGNED copy 😂 ! DeeMacDemanding
