The best way to predict your future is to create it– Abraham Lincoln
Heather’s Gartside’s eclectic career touches on many different creative disciplines: as a writer, journalist for The International Denmark newspaper, event and community organiser at KINDenmark, photographer, teacher, and artist/designer. She strives to smudge the edges in her work and brings an ‘out of the box’ approach to the strongly creative and communicative career paths she follows. Heather currently lives in Denmark and has held two exhibitions of her photography in 2019. Also in 2019 she published her second novel, Middle Distance alongside a major exhibition of the accompanying photographs. Once again she crosses disciplines, combining photographic images with magical realism – and a touch of sea salt! Her first book, ‘Rice Pudding in a Duvet, second helpings’ is available on Amazon in Kindle and paperback versions.
In the Spring of 2019 Heather founded her caring community for foreigners in Denmark, KINDenmark. Through this online presence she has so far managed to arrange, market and present a successful International Women’s Day 2019 event for Copenhagen in March, and World Book Day in May. Working as a tour guide is a part-time occupation which has now grown considerably. Heather’s Time Travelling Tales of Copenhagen are a hit! These three hour tours successfully combine her skills in communications, marketing and historical storytelling.
